Are you looking for a junior Cricket club for your son or daughter? Brothers Cricket Club has been competing in the Townsville Cricket Junior competitions for decades. With four age groups in the junior competition structure including U11, U13, U15 and U18 COLTS, the playing season runs from October to March (inclusive of a 6 week break over the Christmas/New Year period).
Cricket is a fantastic sport for kids and adolescents. It is not only great for developing physical and mental fitness,but playing cricket also builds independence, social and team building skills.
Brothers Cricket is proud to be contributing to the development of the next generation of cricket players. Players who also show integrity, respect and great sportsmanship both on and off the field. We are also proud to have a great group of passionate cricket loving volunteers coaching all our junior teams.

KEY DETAILS
How are teams allocated? A player is allocated to a team based on their age (as at 31st August) in line with Townsville Cricket guidelines. A pre-season trial session may also be held to help facilitate team allocations where there are a high number of player registrations received and multiple teams will be competing in the sameage grade. Teams are mixed and we welcome female players.
When do I train? 1-2 times per week at Brothers Cricket Club home ground, John McCulloch Oval in Kirwan. Training days and frequency are set by your team coach.
When are our games? Each Saturday during the season. Each grade is allocated a start time of either 8.00am or 1.00pm, which will be the same for the entire season. Game duration is approximately 2.5/3hrs for U11 through to 4/5hrs for U13, U15 & Colts (U18).
Where are our games played? Game locations vary each week and are either a 'home' or 'away' game.'Away' games are played at our opposing teams home ground for that match.
U11 and U13 teams play on an astroturf pitch and their 'home' games are played at Ignatius Park College, Cranbrook (Field access via Albert St)
U15 and Colts teams play on a traditional grass pitch and 'home' games are played at our home ground, John McCulloch Oval, Kirwan.
'Away' games are usually every second week and are played at various locations such as Gill Park in Pimlico, Riverway Stadium and Oval, Wulguru State School, Cutheringa Park in West End, Endeavour Park at Murray Sporting Complex and Kilcora Park at Mount Low.
Grades which include competing teams from Home Hill and Charters Towers will include games at these locations also. This is usually a maximum of twice per season.
How do I register to play? Registrations are completed online via the registration button. It will take you to Play HQ which is the registration portal for Cricket Australia.Our teams fill quickly, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Trials for junior team allocation is Sunday 25th August 2024.

At our trial morning we will have a sausage sizzle and you will also be able to pre-order additional merchandise for the season ahead. Coaches will also be available and pre-season training schedules will be discussed with parents.
2024 FairPlay Vouchers
Brothers Cricket is registered to accept FairPlay vouchers.During the registration process you will be prompted to input your voucher number.As a compulsory requirement, you will need to email us a copy of the voucher immediately once you have completed the online registration.

What do I need to have
in my cricket kit?
When you play in our competitive junior teams you will need to play with your own personal cricket kit. These are the items you will need to have on hand each week for training and/or games.
There are lots of products and brands to choose from and not all cricket bats are equal. We recommend speaking with a specialty cricket store like the team Keith Dudgeon Cricket Specialists for expert advice and let them know we sent you.
